You will conceptualize and design a portfolio website as a means to display your work (graphic design, photography, or otherwise). After researching other portfolio websites, you will determine the information architecture for your design. This should include a list of all pages you expect to exist in your final website. You will not be required to deliver content for these pages. Based on this information architecture, you will create a series of wireframe sketches with the intention of exploring possible layout configurations of these elements. Finally, you will produce a Photoshop design comp that is well organized and ready to be turned into a functional website.
You will create at least 3 wireframe sketches (on paper or in JPG format). These sketches should explore possible configurations of the necessary elements and should represent significantly different approaches to the design.
You will create an Information Architecture in flow chart or outline format representing the proposed structure of the site. You will come up with your recommendation for what pages should be included in the web site based on research of other portfolio websites as well as brainstorming to determine what features and sections constitute the ideal information you want available in your portfolio.
You will submit your design comp in the form of a layered Photoshop file (.PSD format). The comp should be well organized, with logically named layers organized into folders. You will also submit a JPG of your design, saved for the web in Photoshop at 100% quality.
A successful project will meet the following criteria:
